This is tough question, really. I have though it few times before.
Here is my feedback:
If it is general approaching video - the factors are too many. Might help, might not at all. It depends on the sticking point, the situation and so on.
If it's made for a purpose, for example "check how I managed to separate her from her distraction" - something specific to pay attention to, to learn it, to see it in application - it is in great benefit.
I've been watching some physical escalation videos that really helped a lot! If it was general video of an approach - there would be too many things to focus thus ruining the learning.
I can go on more, but I'm sure you got the idea.
