I'm often told that I look 10 to 15 years younger than my age (45). In fact, some 25-year-old women the other night thought I was in my late 20s.
I attribute part of that to good genes, being half-Japanese and half-Irish. But much of it is diet. In fact, most of it is. Chronic acne as a teenager pushed me into eating healthy at a young age. I also started eating for my blood type 10 years ago, and that made a HUGE difference in my energy, general health and keeping off extra pounds. I've also added some potent supplements to my diet. You can Google all these things if you want more info. Even if you're in your 20s, it's never too early to start. *Kombucha. It's a beverage made from a mushroom-like root that comes from the Asian continent. It is a PRIME youth elixir. You can get it at any health-food store. I also brewed my own for a while. If you're interested in saving money and making your own, you can order a starter kit from Laurel Farms in Florida. *Acai. It's drink made from a berry in South America. It is ultra-rich in anti-oxidants. You can buy it bottled at most health-food stores and more progressive supermarkets. Or you can get buy it in frozen pulp form, which I prefer, at health food markets. *Stevia. It's a natural herb that's about as sweet as sugar but has zero calories. That's right, zero calories. I use it to sweeten my acai, cocoa and mochas I make at home. *Macha. A plant grown in South America that mostly comes in powder form. Don't worry, it's legal. :-) It increases physical stamina, whether you're working out with weights, running or having sex. My 60-year-old friend who has a 25-year-old girlfriend uses macha instead of viagra. You can buy it dirt cheap on eBay. *Fo-Ti. It's long been reputed to help regenerate brain cells and curb the graying of hair. *COQ10. This is a brain enzyme that boosts your mental energy. It comes in gel capsules or a spray you can apply under your tongue. A dose of this before an exam, writing project or a sarge will maximize your mental clarity and wit. Also be sure to supplement your diet with the usual anti-aging stuff, such as Vitamin C and E. In fact, you should take natural multi-vitamins (not the cheap Centrum crap) every day. Chemical fertilizers, processing, storage and other factors compromise the general nutritional value of modern food. Plus your diet fluctuates, so you can't depend on what's on the table to give your body everything it needs every day. |
