To be honest I don't think you can beat a good steady intake of quality carbs throughout the day to keep your energy levels steady. When we take 'energy boosts' we create highs - and with the highs come lows. It only takes one energy boost and we end up in a 'peak and trough' energy state. We keep on taking energy boosts throughout the day to combat the lows.
Having said that, we do sometimes need a kick-start when we start off the day in a low state. I just tend to have a good strong black coffee and some porridge (not mixed together, lumpy coffee - eugh! |

Red bull is crap. There are reports of medical studies that say after drinking a can of redbull one's blood pressure will rise to that of a patient who has heart disease.
Sugar = Acid, Tony Robbins taught me this, and Acid ages your body. The best way to get energy is to alkanize yourself as much as you can, eat more salad, less meat (no meat if you really can pull it off) and avoid starches, sugars, anything acidic. Coffee is neutral, but when you throw in all the crap *milk, sugar* it becomes fattening if you consume 3-4 cups. Each teaspoon of half and half has 30 calores, adding in the sugar, soon you are up to maybe 100 calories, x4 a day, thats an extra 400 calories a day. First thing in the morning you should drink water and cut 1/2 a lemon and squeeze it in the water. You are getting a boost of alkalinity first thing in the morning. Hope this helps |
