Another important thing to realize about goals is that they should always align with your personal mission.
A lot of people set "thing" goals. What I mean by that is they set a goal to get something, rather than really BECOME someone.
This is why a lot of goals stay unrealized, because we think getting a car or a certain job is a goal, when in fact it's just a destination driven more by whim.
When you find your real motivation -where your JUICE is coming from for your choices in life - you can really line up goals that are incredible.
I highly recommend everyone read Stephen Covey's books on this topic, especially "First things First," which really explains time management as a concept that aligns with what you want, not just getting stuff done.
